January's meal is quickly approaching. Our date this month is Monday, January 19th (Martin Luther King Day). If you will be on island this day, please consider donating part of the meal.
A frequent question I often get asked is "How much do I make?"
My short answer: Plan a recipe that serves 6-8.
Fisher House management tells us to plan on 40 people - which is dispersed between two Fisher Houses.
Here is how it breaks down for our group's planning purposes:
Fisher House 1 has 8 rooms, housing 2 people each (usually the patient plus a family member)Fisher House 2 has 11 rooms, housing 2 people each.
Under each sign-up, there is a small notation of which house your food should be delivered to.
Please make sure you drop off your food at the appropriate house before 5pm - as that the time when residents can begin eating dinner. Also, if your item needs to be heated, please leave instructions.
If it is easier to leave something with me in McGrew Housing on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, please let me know ahead of time.
