Aloha kakōu!
I am looking forward to serving on the PHOSC Board and getting to know the new members this year! Over the last four years on island I’ve found membership in PHOSC to be a much welcomed resource for me to make friends and connect with other mil-spouses thru crafts, tours, outrigger paddling, and ono food.
I love snorkeling and swimming and spent much of our first three years here beach hopping and consider it my three year vacation. I started a job I love, doing payroll for a staffing and recruiting company in town last summer so alas, I can only go to the beach on weekends now.
My husband works for ARMEDCOM and we have two grown sons; Ethan, the oldest, lives with his wife Hillary and my two little grandbabies Goldie and Franny in Salt Lake City. My youngest, Nick and his partner Genevieve live in Denver Colorado.
Although I grew up as an Army brat and transferred schools nine or ten times before I graduated, I consider Alpine Utah my home town because that's where I lived for High School. I studied Art History at Utah State and UVU. I thank my parents in part for my love of art because they dragged me and my many siblings to art museums and historical sites all over western Europe when we lived in Germany.
Exploring art museums remains one of my favorite activities along with collecting local art wherever I go and Honolulu has some really great places to explore! I love to read and discuss literary fiction and I love book club. I collect worn out vintage paperbacks and signed first editions from my favorite authors.
I really enjoyed the activities and members of the club last year and look forward to more this year.
